Since we've been in Philadelphia, we've noticed that Jonathan likes to line things up:
crackers
crackers with his cup (note that these crackers are also arranged by size)
rolled-up socks
shoes
more shoes
and the contents of our refrigerator.
As you can see, we've been documenting this phenomenon.
This morning, my visiting teacher and I sat at our kitchen table and talked while our children colored. (I let the boys have one crayon at a time. When they were finished with one, they would trade it in to me for another.) A few minutes into our conversation, I was startled to realize what I'd been doing with the "used" colors.
We're not OCD; we just like to create order . . . right?

Connor used to line stuff up.
So Jon may grow out of it. What about me!
That is so cute. It's amazing what kids pick up on:)
Sounds like a good habit to have... your home is likely very neat and orderly. :)
Who wouldn't adore a child with a knack for organization?
When I first started reading this to Dad, he said: "I used to do that..." =) and by the time I finished, he said: "...better start saving his money to become a CPA!" =) Thanks for sharing such darling 'documentation'...and... your confession!
I am going to make this a rule at our house. We are all gonna start lining things up. I love it!
