We Have a 3-year-old

William turned 3 on Tuesday. He took the Alpine School District assessment test on Monday, and qualified for preschool, speech therapy, occupational therapy and adaptive physical education. We're waiting to hear from his teacher. He will love school. We appreciate the birthday wishes sent his way. And he is enjoying his gifts. Thank you!

Enjoying the birthday hat he was given in Nursery.

David watched Jonathan at home (Larissa had play practice down in Nephi) so 'Becca and William could go out tonight. Friday's Kids provided respite care for William (he had a lot of fun!) while 'Becca attended a Special Needs Conference. She learned some helpful things about dealing with inner and outer stress, and gained some perspective on having a child with a "disability." Dr. Lynn Scoresby (BYU Faculty) shared the scripture, John 9:2-3: "And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." Dr. Scoresby then shared experiences from his own life when he had observed the works of God being made manifest around an individual with a disability. We have certainly seen the hand of God in our lives even in the 3 years we have, so far, known William. We are better people because he is part of our family. We are thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing us with the opportunity to watch him grow, and for what we learn being his parents.
